1 lb sausage
1 onion, finely chopped
1 can diced tomatoes (or fresh)
1 can tomato sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 c merlot
salt
pepper
oregano
parseley
basil
red pepper flakes
1 box penne pasta
parmesan cheese

Cook the links in a pan in 1/2 of boiling water for 15 min. Drain water and brown in pan. Take out and cut into slices.

Brown sausage and onion in large skillet. Pour off any grease and add garlic for the last few minutes until soft but not brown. Add tomatoes and wine and spices as desired. Simmer 5-10 minutes.

Drain penne reserving a small amount of the cooking liquid. Add to sauce if it is too thick. Toss pasta and sauce together. (Save a dish. Do it in the newly drained pasta pot!) Serve topped with a bit of parmesan cheese.
