I've been a user of Emacs since the v.18 days, though I'd looked at that editor years earlier.

Something happened at work that made me change editors. The code base I'm currently working on completely confused the Emacs tagging system. And yes, I've tried etags and a bunch of others. The a coworker recommended Visual Slick Edit and its tagging was much better, though still not perfect.

It was painful, but I made the change and have been slowing working on getting all of my favorite keybindings and functionality into SlicKEdit.
