Italian Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground italian sausage
  • 1 white onion, finely chopped
  • ½ c green pepper, chopped
  • olive oil
  • 1 T worchestershire sauce
  • ½ t oregano
  • ½ t basil
  • ½ t parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¾ c italian bread crumbs
  • 2 slices white bread, cubed and dried
  • 1 T milk
  • mozzarella cheese to taste, save some for top
  • ¼ parmesan cheese
  • 1 c marinara sauce, plus some for topping

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Saute onion and pepper in oil. Cool.

Mix meats, onions and peppers, all remaining ingredients except toppings.

Place meatloaf in baking dish. Top with marinara

Place in oven and cook for 50 minutes. Remove when meatloaf is almost done.

Remove from oven, top with cheese and return to oven for 10 more minutes.
