OK, here's the deal: Over the years, I have tried lots of different ways of handling the content at this site, including custom Python scripts, straight HTML, and off-the-shelf content management systems. Two years ago, I decided to switch for the last time (ha!) to Joomla. After two years of that, I can't stand its restrictions and the general pain of adding content. So now I'm back to straight HTML. This will be my last switch (again, ha!).
I've found that I prefer doing things over chronicling what I've done. As a result, this site suffers. But no one reads this stuff anyway, so only I care.
I know this site is pretty plain right now. But the benefit of using HTML with style sheets is that my wife, when she gets time, can make this look better. Coming soon!
In case anyone is interested in the poll I had under Joomla regarding the site facelift:
9 "I love the change"
2 "Why does Scott have a vanity page anyway?"
1 "I hate the change"
1 "It changed?"
Now I can go back to not caring what anyone thinks!
