My house has a spare room that is perfect for a drum room. This page captures the work to transform what was a spare utility room into a drum room with an attempt at sound isolation. I'm extremely pleased with the results, even though it isn't "sound proofed." To achieve that would be far beyond what I was willing to spend and the effort I was willing to undertake. What I have ended up with is a comfortable room for my drum sets which keeps enough sound in so that I can play without disturbing the family. Even at night, my playing doesn't bother anyone else.
First things first, I have to thank my friend Jim, who gave me advice at every step of construction. Jim had done his homework for a studio he is building in his basement, so I benefited from his research.
