One of the harder aspects of sound isolation is ventelation ductwork. My drum room is somewhat simplified, in that it doesn't have an air return. This means that I only have to deal with the supply run. I used flexible ducting and put a 90 and a 180 degree turn in them.
Here is a picture of what I ended up doing.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the ductwork before I put up the insulation. But what you see is the ceiling where the metal ductwork ends and the flexible stuff begins. It then makes a 90 degree turn to run down a wall and then does a 180 to run part way back up that same wall. I adapted a floor boot for the exit point in the wall. I had to use the boot, as a more conventional register took up too much of the wall cavity to allow the flexible ducting to pass by.
